What bugs are in Sunriver? How do owls fly silently? How can a rock float? Answer these questions and more at Summer Nature Camp! Budding scientists will have a blast playing nature-based games, meeting live animals, crafting masterpieces, performing science experiments, and exploring the great outdoors. Staff naturalists will guide campers in activities sure to spark a life-long love for nature. Our themes this year are Wildlife Wonders, Whimsical Water, Bugging Out, and Extreme Earth! All of our nature camps include animal discussions, visits to the nature center, games, hikes, and hands-on activities. See below for theme descriptions and schedule:
Wildlife Wonders: Learn all about mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and birds in this animal-themed week! Together we will discover our local wildlife and the habitats they call home.
Whimsical Water: Explore the waters of Sunriver and the animals that call them home! In this themed week campers will explore lakes, ponds, rivers, and water science. Learn about beavers, macroinvertebrates, watersheds, and more!
Bugging Out: Bees, grasshoppers, dragonflies, and more! Campers will learn about pollinators, decomposers, and plants as they collect and identify bugs in the meadow and Lake Aspen.
Extreme Earth: Glaciers, wildfires, earthquakes, and volcanoes! Campers will discover how extreme earth can be though experiments and hands-on activities.
Your budding scientist will love exploring the outdoors, creating masterpieces, and meeting live animals.
