Second Tern Thrift Store isn’t just a great place to find unique treasures—it’s a vital part of the Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory’s mission to inspire discovery, promote sustainability, and protect the natural world.
shop sustainably. support the mission!
When you shop at Second Tern, you’re not just scoring quality goods at affordable prices—you’re directly supporting SNCO’s educational programs, conservation efforts, and community outreach. Proceeds from every sale help fund hands-on science experiences, nature-based learning, and care for native wildlife.
where every purchase gives back
Many donations are passed on to Furnish Hope, La Pine Community Closet, Allied Environmental Services, Central Oregon Veteran and Community Outreach, Radius Recycling, Thrive, Habitat for Humanity, Care and Share, St. Vincents, and Three Rivers School.
community partners
At Second Tern Thrift Store, we believe in giving items—and ideas—a second life. Through the resale of clothing, furniture, toys, and more, we've avoided over 2500 cubic yards of waste from entering our landfill per year. Every donation and purchase help us protect the planet while supporting local nature education. After all, one person’s trash is another’s treasure!
recycle: reduce, reuse, reimagine
Second Tern thrives thanks to our incredible team of volunteers. From sorting donations to assisting customers, each volunteer plays a key role in turning everyday shopping into environmental action. Want to be part of something bigger? We’d love to have you.
